The man who is watching Usagi at the beginning of “The Lord of Owls” is not the same character as Oyama Tadanori / the Lord of Owls. He is a complete mystery which Stan Sakai has never gotten around to revealing. And he has never eppeared in any other stories.

As far as Oyama Tadanori, the Lord of Owls has finally made a reappearance in Usagi Yojimbo #135, revealing a bit more about his nature. Awesome character!
